HI THERE!

I’m so excited you found me and can’t wait to get to know you and your family better! Photography is a second profession that I sort of stumbled into when my oldest daughter was born, but one I am incredibly passionate about. I am a NICU nurse and a former graduate of the Sinclair School of Nursing at MU. I love my babies and their families and nursing is a profession that has taught me so much about life, gifted me so many wonderful relationships, and allowed me to help countless families. After having my first child, I realized the old adage of “the days are long, the years are short” was every ounce the truth. I wanted (and still want!) to remember every moment of her life and, as that’s somewhat impossible, I settled for trying to catch as much on camera as I could. Of course my pictures were terrible. They are still so dear to me because they are of my baby, but I look at them now and laugh a bit. I don’t particularly enjoy being terrible at things, so once I got a little more adjusted to being a mom, I threw myself into photography education and practiced nearly daily. Eventually friends took note and I began doing some sessions and toyed with the idea of starting a business. I have discovered that I absolutely love capturing connections and moments for families and leaning heavily into a storytelling style so that you have images that reflect your connection and the season of life you’re currently in. I know the ferocity with which I want to savor my own life’s memories and know that others must want to preserve the precious moments and stages of their lives just as badly. It makes my heart so happy to deliver images that do just that.

I have been married to my husband for almost 15 years. He is an engineer that can fix literally anything and is the king of terrible dad jokes. He has fostered my photography as a hobby, helped me transition it into a business, handles much of the tech/behind the scenes work related to hard drive back ups and website maintenance, and he occasionally joins me for extended family sessions or weddings to be my assistant. Together we have three wonderful daughters and a crazy lab puppy. I love reading, cooking, spending time with my family, playing board games, doing puzzles, and dragging the family out to find new and beautiful locations to use for sessions. While I love taking pictures of people, you can also find me taking endless photos of flowers and any beautiful sunset I see and playing with glorious light in all manner of ways with my camera.
